Lawrence Garvey is a partner in the Law Firm of Lawrence A. Garvey & Associates, PC located in White Plains, New York. Garvey & Associates is a multidisciplinary finance, business, and criminal law firm seeking to provide clients with the best representation available. From 2012 to 2016, Mr. Garvey was the managing partner of the Law Firm of Garvey Tirelli & Cushner, Ltd., located in White Plains, New York. From 2003 to 2012, He was a partner of Cushner & Garvey LLP, a law firm located in Tarrytown, New York. In 2014, Mr. Garvey was elected chairman of the Rockland County Republican Committee, a position he still holds today.

During his years in private practice, Mr. Garvey has successfully guided numerous individuals through their complex legal issues with expertise and diligence. He has a broad background of experience with over 10 years focused on law. Mr. Garvey has developed a good reputation in criminal law by providing sound legal advice and strong criminal defense.

Prior to entering private practice, Mr. Garvey was General Counsel and Corporate Secretary of ACORD Corporation, a highly technical International Insurance Association located in Pearl River, New York. While at ACORD, he authored numerous articles and white papers on technology and the law. Prior to entering the legal field, Mr. Garvey taught seventh and eighth grade English in the New York City public school system, where he also served as a United Federation of Teacher’s chapter delegate.

From 2006 through 2009, Mr. Garvey was an elected member of the Clarkstown Board of Education in Clarkstown, New York. He served as its President from 2008 to 2009.

Mr. Garvey is a graduate of St. John’s University School of Law and the State University of New York at Albany. Additionally, Mr. Garvey is a member of the Westchester County Bar Association, The New York State Bar Association and The Rockland County Bar Association.

Brittany C. (Patane) Cordero, Esq. is an Attorney with Lawrence A. Garvey & Associates, P.C. and leads the Firm’s departments in Tort and Municipal Law, Business and Commercial Litigation, and Residential and Commercial Real Estate Transactions.

Ms. Cordero plays an instrumental role in defending individuals, municipalities, its officials, and law enforcement personnel in federal and state tort actions. Her individual tort practice at the firm includes actions concerning negligence, intentional infliction of emotional distress, fraud, defamation, and economic/business torts. Ms. Cordero’s municipal practice at the firm includes actions concerning personal injury liability claims, employment law/wrongful termination claims, construction defect claims, and general municipal defense matters.

Ms. Cordero’s business and commercial litigation practice includes a wide variety of practice areas and experiences. Ms. Cordero’s most notable representation involves matters where she is responsible for navigating complex issues concerning financial disputes, partnership litigation, corporate wind down, stock purchase disputes, and contractual breaches.

Under Ms. Cordero’s real estate practice, she is responsible for representing buyers, sellers, and lenders in residential and commercial purchases and sales and refinances. She has long standing experience in drafting contracts, lease agreements, deeds, transfer documents, and all extensive ancillary documents required by lenders and financial institutions in such transactions. As often times combined, Ms. Cordero also assists clients in corporate formation, including the drafting of corporate initiation agreements, and related vendor/sub-contractor agreements, as well as obtaining necessary registrations.

Ms. Cordero’s other practice areas include matrimonial law, land use, criminal law, election law and estate planning.

Ms. Cordero is also a Deputy Town Attorney with the Town of Orangetown, in Rockland County, New York.
